All tangueros have our own personal dance experience. And when I say experience, I'm not referring so much to our dancing skills, but to our history and memories throughout our time dancing.
It's very common for us to ask each other, "How come you chose tango?" And it's very common for the answer to start with a smile or a flinch. And I think, secretly from within, each of us individually asks, "Did I choose it or did it choose me?" And that question arises because tango has so much to offer you that from the moment you discover it, from the moment you hug someone to walk with them, from the moment your heart starts beating with the excitement of the unexpectedness of the next tanda, you don't really have a choice. You automatically have the need to embrace it, to become part of it. You may at times become angry with it, give it up, return to it and then run away from it again. But you know that the tango is always there. And you can escape into its arms.
Among other things, that's how the tango changed my life.
It gave me the reason to always return to a place of connection with people and to create with them the ideal conditions to coexist in an embrace full of comfort, communication and many many emotions. Thank you Tango!
